We Love Folk

Folk a London based clothing label is the perfect brand for the modern discerning man and we love it here at Lucid. The brands ace and so are the guys who work there, our friend Anton Rodriguez is a really good photographer/designer and a top notch bloke.

The question is though, where’s our shoes Anton? Keep up the good work team Folk.

To see more of Anton’s work check his site out at, we love the work he did for Pushka Restaurant.

Staging Space: Aesthetic Language

Gestalten are browsing “scenic interiors and spatial experiences” in their latest thumbflicker. The book, entitled Staging Space is produced in such a fashion that leaves the reader free to form their own interpretations. It is visually saturated and provides web links to give the reader the option of learning more online, leaving the printed space free of ‘clutter copy’. So it’s more suited to a coffee table than a university reading list. Our kind of book.

Peter Philips Chanel Animation

A slick branding short from animator Peter Philips for Chanel. The Lucid team are impressed with the masculine approach he has adopted. Quite a leap from the typical olive-skinned, air-brushed nymphs on glossy billboards. Could this represent a milestone in beauty brand campaigning? We hope so.

Things have been so hectic around here, we’ve unfortunately not made time to post anything for over a month. Rest assured though there is plenty of new and exciting projects to follow in the coming months. From content portals, to affiliate networks, transactional and non transactional i phone apps, to branding and GF Smith business cards, brochures, membership clubs, blog designs, e-commerce sites and much much more.

Say hell to the recession, stay positive, focus and most importantly of all enjoy each day as it comes. In the meantime here is some of the things we have been up to in the last month….

A Trip to Established & Sons

A trip to Established & Sons a pioneering British furniture company based in an uber cool showroom just outside of Shoreditch/Clerknwell in London. Natasha Laing the super friendly sales manager gave us the guided tour and below are some of the key pieces that really stood out. All the furniture is available from our clients website: which is launching very soon.

Surface Table – Made from Carbon Fibre and holding a Formula 1 car as testament to the strength of this engineering masterpiece.

An Episode of Grand Designs

Loved this office from one of the latest episodes of Grand Designs, which featured a young passionate interior designer and her plan to build her dream home in the footings of her dear mothers home.

A Song

A Magical Place – Blythe Hall

Took a trip down memory lane and visited an old family friends home in Lathom Lancashire, which dates back to the 12th Century. Inspiration in design can come from absolutely anywhere.

A quick stop at Kvadrat

This London located fabric showroom is like stepping into a club, with walls that conceal pull out fabric swatches and a white suspended office above a dark brick lower level. This place is another one of those hidden gem, tar-dis’s that you find all over the place in London.

Well worth a visit, check out for more information on these great fabrics.

A Poster from the 1950’s

Design definitely knows no barriers where age is concerned and the past as can be seen in the work of Established & Sons earlier, is often one of the greatest areas of inspiration.

Uniform Wares

Love these new watches from Uniform Wares here at Lucid. Just ordered a couple off Oki ni.

Double iPad and Egg Mc Muffin Please?

Can’t quite imagine why you would want to disguise your iPad as a piece of bacon, or why you would want to look like you have a piece of bacon under your arm? But ah well, for all you bacon fans out there, here it is!

Quirky, weird, bizarre, pointless, awful, refreshing??

Brought to you by Antjes.

Undercover I-pad

Tobias Wong and Chelsea Briganti bring us the iPad case disguised as an envelope. Do we like it, well if your using your iPad in downtown Harlem or you just so happen to be homeless and have a spare £400 in your pocket, then I think this product could definitely be for you. I think I’ll stick to a black neoprene cover if i buy one myself, which is doubtful at the moment with the lack of flash compatibility on the iPad.

For those of you wondering if the case offers any protection the answer is yes, the envelope comes complete with a hard case inside.
