Apposing – Commission

We have been commissioned by App Agency ‘Apposing’, the agency behind the award winning CSL Sofa company app, The Carphone Warehouse ‘Bill Angel’ app and the Pretty Green app to develop their new online presence using WordPress as the core platform. Last year saw us work in partnership on an apps project we won for the BBC, when we were approached this year by them to develop their online presence we were naturally excited to be once again working together.

More updates to follow on this project.

London Art Fair – Art 13 – Now Live

Art13 London is organised by Art Fairs London Ltd: a collaboration between Tim Etchells of SME London Ltd and Sandy Angus of Andry Montgomery. Together, they founded ART HK, the Hong Kong international art fair, which has grown at an exponential rate. From its launch in 2008, ART HK quickly became a major fixture of the international art world and in 2011 Etchells and Angus sold the majority stake in the fair to the prestigious market leader, Art Basel. More recently, furthering his interest in emerging art scenes and markets, Sandy Angus became a director of India Art Fair.

Art13 London will bring a unique global dynamic to the capital’s art world. Launching in spring 2013, this new modern and contemporary art fair will feature between 80 and 100 leading UK and international galleries. Created by the team behind the groundbreaking Art HK, it presents an exceptional opportunity in London for both seasoned and new collectors to discover modern and contemporary art from the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Where Art HK changed the face of the Asian art market in just a few years, providing an essential platform for local dealers and artists while bringing international galleries to Asian collectors, Art13 will transform how art is collected, experienced and understood from within one of the world’s major art capitals.

In addition to some of the foremost names in contemporary art and emerging talents, Art13 London will showcase work spanning the 20th century from all continents. The fair’s main section invites visitors to experience the full spectrum of the global art world and its most significant developments. Meanwhile, further specialist sections are dedicated to photography, young galleries, editions and prints. An ambitious curated program of not-for-profit artists’ commissions, events and talks, is being created in partnership with London institutions.

Art13 London follows on directly from London’s most noteworthy film, music and fashion events including the BAFTAs, the Brit Awards and London Fashion Week, placing it firmly on the must-see list for the London spring season.

A major international advertising campaign will target key publications for example, The Financial Times, The Times and Evening Standard; international art titles such as Art Forum, ArtReview and The Art Newspaper; luxury lifestyle magazines such as Vogue and Tatler; and an online presence including Artnet, Artinfo and e-flux announcements. In addition to this there will be a major outdoor campaign in the surrounding area.

We were commissioned to work alongside London Agency ‘The Plant’ on the development of the website for one of the biggest art fairs on the map in London in 2013 ‘Art 13’.

The project consisted of design and development of the website, wire-framing, online marketing consultancy and iPhone app development. Currently at it’s early stages and it’s infancy this website will likely grow considerably over the next year. More to updates to follow….

The Sunday Times Apps List

In this weekends Sunday Times is ‘The App List’ the first installment of a 2 part supplement detailing 500 of the worlds finest applications. The categories inside part 1 include Social Networking, News, Business, Sport, Cars, Games, Fashion and Beauty, Shopping and Weddings, Food, Drink, Reference, Personal Finance, Babies and Families.

The article begins by announcing the winner of the 10 billionth app download… Gail Davis from Orpington, Kent who downloaded the app ‘Paper Glider’ and bagged herself £10,000 to spend on iTunes. Then goes on to talk about the astonishing speed at which Apple has reached that point, having only launched the apple apps platform in July 2008. Revenue generated this year from the sale of apps is estimated to be over $15 billion and the market is set to just keep growing and growing.

A couple of favorites from the list that we haven’t already downloaded include; ‘Camera Alert’ a speed camera warning device, ‘Parkdroid’ an app that stores your parking space on GPS so you know where you have parked.

What we would like to see on the market in the near future is a banking app from HSBC and a Barclay Card one too that’s as good as their website.

Here at Lucid we have a number of very exciting apps projects in development, look out for more on this soon.

A few members of the Lucid Design Haus’s immediate and extended family are in Paris this week working on some… under wraps projects.

More to follow soon…

In the meantime here are some inspiration shots from the city of love.

(and yes that is a ‘Polaroid App Style’ iPhone shot thrown in the mix there. Hipstamatic App to be precise. Apologies in advance for these, but sometimes they do make a quick and dirty shot that little bit better…. there I said it!)

Lucid Design Agency – forges a way forward with a focus on Magento, SEO and Multi Channel

Here at ‘Lucid Design Agency’ we are preparing for a year of change, progression and improvement for 2011. As the ‘Lucid Design Agency’ new year begins we are making the move to the super strong Magento platform the platform behind brands such as Harvey Nichols, Links of London, North Face, Nespresso and many more High Street brands. We are going harder than ever before on SEO and developing our multi-channel offerings even further.

Expect to see some very strong offerings in the e-commerce arena, with Magento at the heart and if your planning on getting your site on the map, we have just added SEO to our list of services, something we don’t do without a lot of thought and consideration. So drop us a line at and we will be more than happy assist your company with all of your SEO requirements.

In terms of multi-channel our Iphone and Android platform development is seeing a lot of interest from clients at the moment and we have some great projects to add to our portfolio in the coming months. We understand here at ‘Lucid’ as much as any other digital design agency should, that the only way forward and to keep up with what the competition is doing is multi-channel. Adding an Iphone click to buy app to your channel portfolio can give your audience the chance to browse and purchase on the move, whilst a cleverly thought out advice based application can drive scores of people to your business for more.

One very interesting project we are working on is a membership application, where by the conventional membership card is done away with and the mobile application takes over the job of displaying membership details. With a bit of thought and research the possibilities of what multi channel can do for your business are endless.
