The project is to build the brand from the ground up with the team in New York and London, creating a full identity and multi user e-commerce platform in Magento.

Apposing – Commission

We have been commissioned by App Agency ‘Apposing’, the agency behind the award winning CSL Sofa company app, The Carphone Warehouse ‘Bill Angel’ app and the Pretty Green app to develop their new online presence using WordPress as the core platform. Last year saw us work in partnership on an apps project we won for the BBC, when we were approached this year by them to develop their online presence we were naturally excited to be once again working together.

More updates to follow on this project.

An Experiment by Román Cortés – Never Gonna Give You Up

Far too often are technical skills taken far too seriously. Román Cortés has decided to showcase his Javascript/Flash competency by creating a light-hearted yet unique algorithm that translates video into text motion. In his experiment, the lyrics of the Rick Astley classic Never Gonna Give You Up are manipulated to form the image of the singer himself, dancing to his song. Click here to view it.

Black Swan

As most will know by now, Black Swan is the box office hit film of the year, along with the great ‘The Kings Speech‘ and a whole host of other films that have been released in time for awards season. Starring Natalie Portman the film is a dark journey through the career of a dancer and her struggles.

However good those films might be though, that’s not really what this post is about. Rather it is about the artwork that features everywhere and anywhere right now to promote the film. Which includes the window of Collete in Paris where we could be found this evening “papping” Karl Largafeld who was out buying something in the store.

Anyway again back to the artwork for the film. It’s fantastic and a refreshing change from the typical Hollywood film poster of Actor and film name. We even picked up an uncoated, textured black envelope the other day in FACT in Liverpool City Centre, which was filled with the postcards of the artwork… Bonus. We want to see more of this kind of artwork and production in terms of graphic design featuring in the promotion of hit films. Not only is it nice to get hold of, but its great for the industry too.
