Sydney Contemporary Website – Now Live

We recently completed the development and launch of Sydney’s newest Contemporary Art Fair’s website. Having developed the project in conjunction with a Sydney based design studio, we launched the website, hosted it and produced a series of email marketing campaigns on their behalf. Art HK Founder Tim Etchells Launches New Sydney Contemporary Art Fair

Less than one month after Australian art dealers Vasili Kaliman and Jarrod Rawlins of KALIMANRAWLINS gallery announced the launch of a new Australian art fair to be held in Melbourne, the launch of another new Australian art fair has just been announced by Tim Etchells, founder of ART HK.

The new biennial contemporary fair will be called Sydney Contemporary and will be launched in April 2013. Featuring established and emerging galleries from Sydney and overseas, the fair will cater to a broad spectrum of experienced and potentially new collectors.

Sydney Contemporary will showcase between 60 and 80 local, national and international galleries in its inaugural year. The fair will feature unique sections including New Contemporary – dedicated to the artist run initiatives and innovative young galleries, and Paper Contemporary, a curated showcase of prints and limited edition photography from leading galleries.

According to Etchells, “Sydney Contemporary represents the first time this city has hosted a serious, high-end art fair. We expect it to play a significant role in helping to focus attention on the Sydney art scene in the same way that ART HK focused attention on Asian art. The fair provides a vital new platform from which galleries, artists and collectors can deepen and grow networks and relationships both with local contacts and throughout the broader Asia Pacific region,“

The inaugural Sydney Contemporary will be held from Friday 12th until Sunday 14th April 2013 at the Hordern Pavillion and Royal Hall of Industries at Moore Park in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, with the Vernissage held on the evening of Thursday 11th April 2013.

Sydney Contemporary is organised by Art Fairs Australia Pty Ltd, a company founded by Tim Etchells of SME London Ltd. Etchells is founder of ART HK, the Hong Kong international art fair, which has grown to become a major fixture on the international art calendar.

London Art Fair – Art 13 – Now Live

Art13 London is organised by Art Fairs London Ltd: a collaboration between Tim Etchells of SME London Ltd and Sandy Angus of Andry Montgomery. Together, they founded ART HK, the Hong Kong international art fair, which has grown at an exponential rate. From its launch in 2008, ART HK quickly became a major fixture of the international art world and in 2011 Etchells and Angus sold the majority stake in the fair to the prestigious market leader, Art Basel. More recently, furthering his interest in emerging art scenes and markets, Sandy Angus became a director of India Art Fair.

Art13 London will bring a unique global dynamic to the capital’s art world. Launching in spring 2013, this new modern and contemporary art fair will feature between 80 and 100 leading UK and international galleries. Created by the team behind the groundbreaking Art HK, it presents an exceptional opportunity in London for both seasoned and new collectors to discover modern and contemporary art from the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Where Art HK changed the face of the Asian art market in just a few years, providing an essential platform for local dealers and artists while bringing international galleries to Asian collectors, Art13 will transform how art is collected, experienced and understood from within one of the world’s major art capitals.

In addition to some of the foremost names in contemporary art and emerging talents, Art13 London will showcase work spanning the 20th century from all continents. The fair’s main section invites visitors to experience the full spectrum of the global art world and its most significant developments. Meanwhile, further specialist sections are dedicated to photography, young galleries, editions and prints. An ambitious curated program of not-for-profit artists’ commissions, events and talks, is being created in partnership with London institutions.

Art13 London follows on directly from London’s most noteworthy film, music and fashion events including the BAFTAs, the Brit Awards and London Fashion Week, placing it firmly on the must-see list for the London spring season.

A major international advertising campaign will target key publications for example, The Financial Times, The Times and Evening Standard; international art titles such as Art Forum, ArtReview and The Art Newspaper; luxury lifestyle magazines such as Vogue and Tatler; and an online presence including Artnet, Artinfo and e-flux announcements. In addition to this there will be a major outdoor campaign in the surrounding area.

We were commissioned to work alongside London Agency ‘The Plant’ on the development of the website for one of the biggest art fairs on the map in London in 2013 ‘Art 13’.

The project consisted of design and development of the website, wire-framing, online marketing consultancy and iPhone app development. Currently at it’s early stages and it’s infancy this website will likely grow considerably over the next year. More to updates to follow….
